Gregoire
Besson Group, a leader in agricultural cultivating machinery, has expanded its
portfolio with the creation of Italy-based company, Agri Way.

This
acquisition comes at the end of an extremely successful year for Gregoire
Besson in the UK, which has seen the company celebrate its 20th
anniversary; move to a purpose-designed headquarters on Spalding Road in
Bourne, Lincolnshire; and the purchase of RABE AGRI, a manufacturer of ploughs,
soil preparation implements and seeds, based in Bad Essen, in Germany.

to our continued commitment to our customers, both existing and future,”
explains Robin Immink, Managing Director of Gregoire Besson UK.
“The

Dri-Pak develop Soda Crystals that can really take the heat
Derbyshire company produces Soda Crystal that can withstand heats of 100°C
making them ideal for overseas export
Dri-Pak
Limited, a producer of traditional and sustainable household cleaning products,
has today unveiled a new grade of Soda Crystal which is suitable for export to
hot countries.
The
Derbyshire-based company has been producing Soda Crystals for over 50 years,
for both consumers and retailers.
However, at the moment these crystals can only withstand heats of up to
32ºC before they solidify or melt. This
has limited the number of countries the product the can be exported to. To counteract this problem, Dri-Pak has
developed a new grade of Soda Crystal by changing the formula of the crystal. This has made the product stable up to 100ºC
making it ideal for transport to hotter climates.
“Soda
Crystals is one
of our most popular products, especially with our Cash and Carry, and Wholesale
customers. However, we have all been
limited to the number of countries we can export to due to its volatility,”
explains Bruce Maxwell, Managing Director of Dri-Pak Limited.
“This
new development, which has resulted in a more stable product, will open up a
myriad of new and different markets for both us and our many retail customers
across the globe,” adds Bruce.

Clearly safer floors thanks to Granwax
According to the Health and Safety
Executive (HSE) slips, trips and falls make up more than half of all reported
injuries in the work place, and almost a third of these injuries result in
employees being absent from work for three days or more. Ensuring floor surfaces are safe is essential
to the wellbeing of not only employees, but in establishments such as bars,
restaurants and retail outlets, to members of the public as well.
To help reduce this statistic, flooring
specialist Derbyshire-based Granwax Products Ltd has created an innovative
anti-slip floor finish, perfect for use on projects where traction is of upmost
importance. Granwax Clearsafe is a fast
curing, water-based polyurethane finish designed specifically as a top-coat for
interior wood floors. Providing superior
slip resistance, it is ideal for surfaces that are subjected to rainwater,
alcohol, liquids, and foodstuffs, as well as floors that are used on a regular
basis.
Clearsafe has recently been used to
great effect in the renovation of floors at Wolverhampton Civic Hall, where
Beaver Floorcare applied Clearsafe over Granwax Masterfinish. Before the refurbishment, the wax covered
floors in the multi-use building allowed liquid to seep through the surface,
creating slip hazards. The application
of Clearsafe means liquid now sits on top of the floor allowing it to be wiped
off quickly and easily, producing a safer surface.
“Ensuring floor surfaces meet health
and safety regulations for slip resistance, as well as ensuring the safety of
employees and customers alike, can be a big concern for both private and public
businesses,” explains Carl Blythe, Director of Granwax Products Limited.
“With the development of Granwax
Clearsafe, which has been independently tested to ensure it complies with the
HSE anti-slip requirements for wet conditions, we hope to alleviate some of
these concerns and provide peace of mind.
However, we also understand that the aesthetics of a floor can be just
as important. This is why Granwax Clearsafe
is a clear formula which gives a slip resistant surface, whilst retaining the
appearance and colour of a floor,” adds Carl.
For further information about
Clearsafe, as well as other products in the Granwax Products Ltd range, visit www.granwax.com or call 01773 541177.

Natural and safe modelling clay for kids
Bicarbonate of Soda has hundreds of uses around the
home from baking to cleaning and even deodorising - but did you know it can
also be used to keep your little angels occupied? Bicarbonate of Soda can be
made into a natural and safe modelling clay to be used for creative and
educational activities. Kids can build their very own 3D art can then be kept
or reused and turned into another work of art. This simple recipe for making clay
is safe and inexpensive and will keep them entertained for hours. Who knows, it
may even inspire the next Michelangelo! To make natural Bicarbonate of Soda modelling clay, mix 400g Bicarbonate of Soda, 100g cornflour, 250ml of water and a table spoon of vegetable oil in a saucepan. Gently heat the mixture until it becomes the consistency of mashed potatoes, and leave to cool under a damp cloth. Once the mixture is cool, divide into separate trays, add a few drops of food colouring to each and mix into the clay thoroughly. Dust an old surface with a handful of cornflour and let the kids start creating their masterpieces!
Using cookie cutters is a
great way of teaching children about shapes and they will love squeezing and
pressing objects into the clay to make new ones. Let their imaginations run
wild by letting them mould their own forms, or even creating new colours by
mixing different clays together! The clay can be kept in airtight containers to
be used for next playtime, or left to harden for 2-3 days before being painted.
Dri-Pak
produces 500g packs of Bicarbonate of Soda which are available from
supermarkets, independent stores and directly from Dri-Pak. For further information and ideas for keeping
the kids entertained as well as a directional video showing the making of

Granwax commits to raising industry standard as part of the British Wood Flooring Association
Expert
floor finish company, Alfreton-based Granwax Products Limited, is helping to
shape the future of the British flooring industry with the development of the
first industry-recognised organisation, the British Wood Flooring Association.
Developed
in partnership with ten other companies, the British Wood Flooring Association
(BWFA) has been created to raise the standards of the wood flooring industry through
education and training. For installers
and suppliers, membership to the BWFA demonstrates a commitment to upholding
the highest standards of craftsmanship in both the installation process and
product aftercare. The Association also
acts as an independent reference point for customers who want a top quality
product, together with guaranteed peace of mind.
“The
UK
flooring industry has never been standardised nor had a representative trade
body. At Granwax Products we knew it was
vital to the future of the industry that such an organisation should be
established, both as an impartial resource for customers and to improve
industry standards through specialist training,” explains Carl Blythe, Director
of Granwax Products Limited.
“It
is extremely important to us that other companies and, more importantly,
flooring contractors, embrace the Association.
Not only will it demonstrate their dedication to maintaining and raising
industry standards, but also to give their customers and distributors the
reassurance that they are receiving the best products and service on the
market,” continues Carl.
Since
its inception the BWFA is going from strength to strength with the opening of
its own training facility in Birmingham. The specialist education facility for
installers and finishers is helping to raise the standards of the industry, as
well as ensuring future generations have the correct skills to maintain, and
improve on, the benchmarks that have already been set.
“Going
forward we hope the BWFA will act as an industry mark of quality workmanship
our members will be able to display, and which customers will recognise as a
sign that they will receive only the highest standards of skill and service,”
adds Carl.

Does your washing machine smell as fresh as you’d like?
Do you ever open the door to your
washing machine expecting the smell of freshly washed clothes but are instead
met by a fusty, damp odour? Smelly washing machines are not only unpleasant but
they can also transfer bad smells to clothes, meaning they have to be rewashed.
But don’t worry; there is an easy, inexpensive and effective way to eliminate
bad smells from your machine using traditional Soda Crystals, Citric Acid and
White Vinegar!
Washing machines emitting bad odours
are usually the result of a build up of bacteria, often resulting from using
cooler wash temperatures and gentler washing powders. Warmth from central
heating can also cause the bacteria to grow more easily.
To eliminate smells, scum, detergent
and grime from your machine simply add half a bag of Soda Crystals, split
between the detergent drawer and the drum and run the machine empty on a 60
degree cycle, or higher if there is a significant smell. This will raise the PH
of the water and help to wash away the smell-causing bacteria.
If you are in a hard water area, it is
recommended to repeat this process using either 500ml of White Vinegar or a
packet of Citric Acid to which will remove limescale build up and complete the
cleaning process.
Not only will Soda Crystals, White
Vinegar and Citric Acid eradicate bad smells in your washing machine, they will
lower the power consumption of the machine by descaling the element.
Citric Acid is available from John Lewis, Soda Crystals and White Vinegar
are available from supermarkets nationwide.
For further information on Citric Acid, Soda Crystals and White Vinegar,
please visit www.dri-pak.co.uk
or contact Dri-Pak directly on (0115) 9325165.
