Spring cleaning nightmare – the oven!
Cleaning the oven is perhaps one of the most dreaded of cleaning chores. Some more expensive ovens purport to be 'self-cleaning' but usually involve carbonising any deposits – hardly good for your energy bill or the environment. Many people however rely on very aggressive cleaning foams. These can be dangerous and should only be used with adequate safety precautions and not near children or pets. A more traditional cleaning product, Soda Crystals is ideal for tackling the job. They have been trusted for over a century to help safely dissolve grease.
Although diluting the traditional powder variety in hot water is still an option, many people will prefer the convenience of liquid soda crystals available in a trigger spray. The trick is to let the sprayed liquid remain on the internal surfaces for at least half an hour, before rinsing with hot clean water and a cloth, sponge or scouring pad if the build up is particularly severe.
It also makes sense to tackle the cooker hood at the same time. The exterior can be tackled with the liquid soda crystals whilst the removable filter can be soaked in a strong, hot soda crystals solution. The filter can be rinsed and left to dry, without the need for costly replacements.
The 500ml bottles are around £1.49 a bottle and the 1kg bags have a RRP of 84p. A helpline is available to advise on applications and usage on (0115) 932 5165 or at http://www.soda-crystals.co.uk/.
